|  Dave Pfanmiller is the Managing Partner of Security Building Group, LLC (a North Carolina Corporation) and Security Building Group – Gulf Coast, LLC (a Mississippi Corporation). Both companies are the collaborative endeavor of Dave’s; along with longtime business partner Curtis Fields of Tri-City Contractors, located in Raleigh, North Carolina. It is their mission to build disaster-resistant homes in the coastal areas of North Carolina and Mississippi. Security Building Group (SBG) is committed to the cast-in-place removable form concrete construction technology not only for its strength, safe and secure qualities, but because it is energy-efficient, quiet, and environmentally responsible method to build better homes.
Dave’s construction career began after he received his Architectural Degree from the University of Kansas in 1975. His background includes 17 years in residential, light commercial and industrial construction in the Kansas City area. Dave relocated to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1992 to help Fields launch Tri-City Contractors, Inc. Tri-City is a full-service residential and commercial concrete contracting business serving the Triangle area. In 2000, Dave and Curtis created Security Building Group, LLC to spearhead the development of above-grade concrete housing. Dave is currently the Chairman of the Concrete Homes Council (a direct affiliate of the Concrete Foundation Association), a sub-chairman of the Systems Builders Council of the NAHB’s Building Systems Councils and is on the steering committee for the Concrete Home Building Council of NAHB’s Building Systems Councils.
In 2001, SBG built their first North Carolina concrete home in downtown Raleigh’s historic Mordecai area. It was a huge success and sold very quickly. But, it soon became apparent that the operation should move to the coast so they could take full advantage of the system’s inherent strength and storm resistance. Property was procured and the majority of the initial projects shifted to the coastal areas around Topsail Island, North Carolina.
In 2006, Dave and Curtis created Security Building Group – Gulf Coast, LLC in response to numerous inquiries for concrete housing in the storm ravaged Gulf Coast counties of Mississippi.
At the present time SBG has concrete home construction underway in both locations.
